SB 203580 is a potent inhibitor of LPS-induced cytokine synthesis in the human monocyte cell line THP-1 (IC50 = 50-100 nM). ^[1]SB 203580 inhibited the RK from heat-shocked HeLa cells and osmotically stressed PC12 cells or bacterially expressed CSBP-2 with an IC50 of 0.6 μM.
SB 203580-induced activation of c-Raf is independent of stress-activated protein kinase 2a/p38 inhibition. ^[2]

The results did not show significant changes on the mRNA expression of SRP72 after the treatment with these inhibitors.
