与标准波片不同,消色差波片(相位延迟片)可实现恒定的相移,不受所使用的光线的波长影响。这种波长独立性通过使用两种不同的双折射晶体材料实现。在波长范围内延迟的相对位移通过所使用的两种材料进行均衡抵消。消色差波片(相位延迟片)的平坦响应尤其适用于可调激光、多激光线系统以及其他宽光谱源。
设计用于 0° 入射角,±3° 的变化将产生少于 1% 的延迟性变化。11.5mm 通光孔径波片采用气隙构造, 23mm 通光孔径波片则采用胶接构造。所有消色差波片(相位延迟片)均装在阳极化铝外壳中,并清晰标示快光轴。
