聚氨酯密封胶(polyurethanesealant)系以聚氨酯橡胶及聚氨酯预聚体为主要成分的密封胶。此类密封胶具有高的拉伸强度、优良的弹性、耐磨性、耐油性和耐寒性,但耐水性,特别是耐碱水性欠佳。可分为加热硫化型、室温硫化型和热熔型三种。其中室温硫化型又有单组分和双组分之分。其广泛用于建筑物、广场、公路作为嵌缝密封材料,以及汽车制造、玻璃安装、电子灌装、潜艇和火箭等的密封。
Polyurethane sealant (polyurethanesealant) is a sealant with polyurethane rubber and polyurethane prepolymer as the main component. This kind of sealant has high tensile strength, excellent elasticity, abrasion resistance, oil resistance and cold resistance, but water resistance, especially alkali resistance water resistance. It can be divided into three kinds: heating vulcanization type, room temperature vulcanization type and hot-melt type. The room temperature vulcanization type has a single component and a two component component. 聚氨酯密封胶有如下特点:优良的耐磨性;低温柔软性;性能可调节范围较广;机械强度大;粘接性好;弹性好,具有优良复原性,可适合于动态接缝;耐候性好,使用寿命可达15~20年;耐油性能优良;耐生物老化;价格适中。

聚氨酯密封胶也有一些缺点。如:不能长期耐热;浅色配方容易受紫外光老化;单组分胶贮存稳定性受包装及外界影响较大,通常固化较慢;高温热环境下可能产生气泡和裂纹;许多场合需要底涂。同时聚氨酯密封胶耐水性也较差,特别是耐碱水性欠佳。
Polyurethane sealants also have some shortcomings. For example, it can not be heat-resistant for a long time. Light color formulations are susceptible to ultraviolet aging. The storage stability of mono component is greatly influenced by packaging and external environment, usually cured slowly, and bubbles and cracks may occur in high temperature and hot environment. At the same time, the water resistance of the polyurethane sealant is also poor, especially the alkali water resistance is not good.

聚氨酯密封胶的主要用途是土木建筑业、交通运输业等。如在日本,约75~80%的聚氨酯密封胶用于建筑,15%用于汽车、机械制造等,5%用于土木及其它方面。

在建筑方面的具体应用有:混凝土预制件等建材的连接及施工缝的填充密封,门窗的木框四周及墙的混凝土之间的密封嵌缝,建筑物上轻质结构(如幕墙)的粘贴嵌缝,阳台、游泳池、浴室等设施的防水嵌缝,空调及其它体系连接处的密封,隔热双层玻璃、隔热窗框的密封等。
