描述：Nimodipine-d7 is a deuterium-labeled analogue of Nimodipine. Nimodipine is a L-type Ca²⁺ channel within the dihydropyridine drug class. Nimodipine has several reported effects, specifically within vascular and neuronal test systems. In anesthetized cats, intravenous administration of Nimodipine is reported to cause pial arterial vasodilation. In rats, a study on the effect of Nimodipine on convulsions produced via various methods noted that the threshold of pentylenetetrazol convulsion induction was raised after Nimodipine administration. Nimodipine has also been reported to be selective for cerebral vasculature and may be useful for migraine research studies. Chronic Nimopidine treatment in aged rats has been reported to prevent age-induced learning deficits and may be associated with a slight increase of synaptosomal Ca²⁺ binding proteins from the cerebral cortex.
