描述：Demeclocyclin hydrochloride hemihydrate is a reportedly photoactive compound within the tetracycline family of antibiotics. Demeclocyclin was utilized in phototoxicity assays investigating the survival of Saccharomyces cerevisiae under UV light levels in combination with Demeclocyclin and other photoreactive compounds. Demeclocyclin was reported to not affect yeast cell survival under UV light levels consistent with solar exposure. Additionally, Demeclocyclin was utilized in a study to ascertain a method by which to determine the photophysical, kinetic and spectral properties of Demeclocyclin and other tetracycline derivatives upon irradiation into their induced excited states.
