2-Methylthioadenosine triphosphate (2-MeSATP) is an analog of ATP that acts as a ligand for purinergic receptors. It is used as an agonist of P2X and P2Y receptors in cell signaling studies. The potency of 2-MeSATP at P2X receptors is similar to that of ATP, while it is a much more potent agonist of P2Y receptors than is ATP.
