During a Rheo apheresis treatment two single-use adsorbers selectively remove fibrinogen, fibrin, and fibrin degradation products. A comparable quantity of C-reactive protein is also depleted from the patient´s blood. The plasma volumes processed during a Rheo apheresis treatment can be adjusted to the patient’s individual fibrinogen target level.
The Complete Treatment Set contains all single-use system components that are necessary for one treatment. This includes two adsorbers, the tubing set, disk separator and solutions that are used for anti-coagulation, priming, buffering and elution of the apheresis system.
