LS-F36213 is a 96-well enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) for the Quantitative detection of Rat AREG / Amphiregulin in samples of Plasma, Serum and Tissue Homogenates. It is based upon a Sandwich assay principle and can be used to detect levels of AREG / Amphiregulin as low as 18.75 picograms per milliliter.

Due to their limited shelf life, LSBio ELISA kits are not typically stocked as finished goods. Upon receipt of an order each kit is assembled and tested to ensure that it meets specifications before shipping. Minor changes may occur to the Range, Sensitivity, and Precision. In the event of a significant change the order would be confirmed with the customer before shipping ELISA kit lot numbers reflect the date of final assembly and testing for each specific kit rather than a bulk manufactured lot. All kits are tested to confirm that they fall within their defined Inter- and Intra- assay coefficient of variation.

This kit was based on sandwich enzyme-linked immune-sorbent assay technology. Anti- AR antibody was pre-coated onto 96-well plates. And the biotin conjugated anti-AR antibody was used as detection antibodies. The standards, test samples and biotin conjugated detection antibody were added to the wells subsequently, and wash with wash buffer. HRP-Streptavidin was added and unbound conjugates were washed away with wash buffer. TMB substrates were used to visualize HRP enzymatic reaction. TMB was catalyzed by HRP to produce a blue color product that changed into yellow after adding acidic stop solution. The density of yellow is proportional to the AR amount of sample captured in plate. Read the O.D. absorbance at 450nm in a microplate reader, and then the concentration of AR can be calculated.

About AREG / AmphiregulinP15514 NM_001657 NP_001648.1
AREG / Amphiregulin is a member of the epidermal growth factor family. It is an autocrine growth factor as well as a mitogen for astrocytes, Schwann cells and fibroblasts. It is related to epidermal growth factor (EGF) and transforming growth factor alpha (TGF-alpha). The protein interacts with the EGF/TGF-alpha receptor to promote the growth of normal epithelial cells, and it inhibits the growth of certain aggressive carcinoma cell lines.
