It can be integrated into Pinnacle’s EEG/EMG systems to simultaneously record sleep or seizure activity. The system is also compatible with all Pinnacle Data Acquisition systems and Sirenia® software.
1. The Optogenetic Interface Module (OGIM) provides precise timing and illumination control of the LED fiber probe. 2. Our 8401-HS data conditioning and acquisition system (DCAS) performs secondary amplification and filtering before sending data to Pinnacle’s Sirenia Acquisition software of collection via USB. 3. The low-torque commutator, which is mounted above the cage, allows for unencumbered freedom of movement. 4. Electrophysiological signals are amplified and filtered at the head of the animal using our headstages. The mouse headstage contains up to 2 connectors to optogenetic LED probes and connects to a headmount via a friction fit. 5. Prefabricated headmounts reduce surgery time and provide ready-to-insert EMG leads. 6. An optional, SYNCHRONIZED VIDEO SYSTEM is available. LED FIBER PROBESPinnacle’s optogenetic stimulation is based on LEDs coupled to 200/250 µM fiber optic cable with a minimum light output of 60mW/mm². The LED fiber probes are implanted using a guide cannula and standard stereotaxic techniques. The LED fiber probe assembly plugs directly into a 2 mm electrical header on the headstage, removing any requirements for an optical commutator.
