The CytoDyne Flow Chamber Systems are designed to allow cells grown on standard glass slides (38 mm by 75 mm)to be subjected to well defined laminar fluid shear stress. Fluid flow may be provided by syringe pump (short term) or by the CytoDyne Continuous Flow Loop (for long term studies). Specifications / Features: o Shear stress of 0-30 dyn/cm2 o All chambers come with luer connectors and are compatible with the CytoDyne continuous flow loop system. o Vacuum seal between chamber and slide allows unit to fit on standard inverted microscope stage for real time visualization. (Vacuum pump is not provided). Cell area 13.2 cm2 Fits 75x38mm (3"x1.5") slide Includes chamber assemble with luer fittings and gasket (medical grade silicone). Replacement Gaskets are available seperately. Useful for studies involving gene expression / Northern Blots, immunofluorescence, intravital dye and cell adhesion. |
Continuous Flow Loop |
The CytoDyne Continuous Flow Loop System is designed for use in conjunction with the CytoShear parallel plate flow chambers. The system provides continuous fluid flow, minimizing the required fluid volume while maintaining a sterile culture environment. The closed loop system is driven by a standard roller pump (not provided), and is ideal for both short and long term (up to 1 week) flow studies. Specifications / Features: o Adjustable flow rates allow shear stress of 0-30 dyn/cm2 (when used with CytoDyne flow chambers). o Fully enclosed and autoclavable to maintain sterility o All tubing biocompatible and autoclavable o Standard luer fittings at all connections o Sample port for sterile sampling without disturbing the flow field o Minimal fluid volume (as low as 12 ml) is ideal for assays of secreted products System Includes: o Fluid Reservoir o All tubing and connectors o Sample port with septum |
