CENPA encodes a centromere protein which contains a histone H3 related histone fold domain that is required for targeting to the centromere. CENPA is proposed to be a component of a modified nucleosome or nucleosome-like structure in which it replaces 1 or both copies of conventional histone H3 in the (H3-H4)2 tetrameric core of the nucleosome particle. Function : Histone H3-like variant which exclusively replaces conventional H3 in the nucleosome core of centromeric chromatin at the inner plate of the kinetochore. Required for recruitment and assembly of kinetochore proteins, mitotic progression and chromosome segregation. 2）配好的无血清培养基一定保存在4度，保存不要超过3个月。用时根据提示要加入谷胺酰胺。
3）加入血清的培养基，保存在4度不要超过1个月，从时间太长，活性下降。当然稍微长点也不一定出问题。但是根据细胞而定;如果原代培养，新鲜，如果是肿瘤细胞，或仅维持传代就不太要紧。但是原则是越新越好。
