This linear AVP analog is an extremely high-affinity and selective antagonist at V-1a vasopressin receptors. Convenient derivatization of the Lys⁹ ε-amino group with AMC or biotin leads to highly selective V-1a ligands that are, e.g., useful for receptor localization and purification studies.
