Risedronate inhibits bone marrow adipogenesis, decreases activity of mTORC1, and suppresses activation of NF- B in vitro. In animal models, risedronate induces apoptosis in osteoclasts, upregulates expression of Bim, increases bone mineral density, and inhibits bond resorption.
