【产品介绍】Cadherins are transmembrane glycoproteins that mediate calcium-dependent cell adhesion. LI-cadherin (liver-intestine cadherin), also known as cadherin-17, may play a role in the morphological organization of the liver and intestine (1). Thus, it is involved in intestinal peptide transport (1). LI-cadherin contains seven cadherin repeats and a short cytoplasmic domain that does not interact with catenins or the actin cytoskeleton (2). It is expressed in intestinal epithelial cells in the gastrointestinal tract, as well as the pancreatic duct (1, 2). Within the human intestinal mucosa, LI-cadherin is specifically concentrated in the lateral domain of the plasma membrane residing between adjacent enterocytes but spared from adherens junctions (3).
