to the enhance Fas-mediated apoptosis a n d activate the
JNK pathway （1）. Apoptosis signal-regulating kinase 1
（ASK1） controls the dual function of Daxx as
a transcriptional repress o r in the nucleus a n d as
a proapoptotic signal mediat o r in the cytoplasm （2）.
Daxx associates with various proteins,
including promyelocytic leukemia protein （PML） a n d
heat shock protein 27, lending significance to their
roles in tum o r suppression a n d Daxx-mediated
