产品介绍：PTP4A1 belongs to a small class of prenylated protein tyrosine phosphatases （PTPs）, which contains a PTP domain ａnd a characteristic C-terminal prenylation motif. PTPs are cell signaling molecules that play regulatory roles in a variety of cellular processes. This tyrosine phosphatase is a nuclear protein, but may primarily associate with plasma membrane. The surface membrane association of this protein depends on its C-terminal prenylation. Overexpression of this gene in mammalian cells conferred a transformed phenotype, which implicated its role in the tumorigenesis. Studies in rat suggested that this gene may be an immediate-early gene in mitogen-stimulated cells.Function : Opiorphin is an endogenous inhibitor of neprilysin ａnd aminopeptidase N. Inhibits the breakdown of substance P, Mca-BK2 ａnd Met-enkephalin by neprilysin in vitro with IC（50） values of 29 uM, 33 uM ａnd 33 uM respectively. Inhibits the breakdown of Ala-pNA by aminopeptidase N in vitro with an IC（50） of 65 uM. Has a potent analgesic effect when administered to rats by intravenous injection.Subunit : Secreted.Subcellular Location : Abundantly expressed in lacrimal gland where it found in the secretory endpieces. Also expressed at modest levels in the submandibular gland.Similarity : Belongs to the PROL1/PROL3 family.
