Description: Used in sequencing, denaturing polyacrylamide gels, and nucleic acid hybridization. The degradation products of formamide （formic acid and ammonia） can cause the breakdown of nucleic acids, so formamide should be deionized prior to use with approximay 1 gm mixed bed ion-exchange resin per 100 ml formamide. We suggest using Amberlite® IRA-910 （Cl）（MP catalog number 150323）.
Solubility: Miscible with water, methanol, ethanol, acetone, acetic acid, doxane, ethylene glycol, USP glycerol, phenol; very slightly soluble in ether, benzene
