| Product Description（产品描述） Penicillin G also known as benzylpenicillin. It exert a bacteriocidal as well as a bacteriostatic effect on susceptible bacteria by interfering with the final stages of the synthesis of peptidoglycan, a substance in the bacterial cell wall. |
| Applications（应用） Penicillin G is effective against most gram-positive bacteria and against gram-negative cocci. It has also been used as an experimental convulsant because of its actions on gamma-aminobutyric acid mediated synaptic transmission. |
| Biochem/physiol Actions（生化/生理功能） Mode of Action: The β-lactam moiety （functional group） of penicillin G binds to the enzyme （DD-transpeptidase） that links the peptidoglycan molecules in bacteria. The enzymes that hydrolyze the peptidoglycan cross-links continue to function, which weakens the cell wall of the bacterium, it causes cytolysis（death due to osmotic pressure） in Bactria. Antimicrobial spectrum: Gram-positive bacteria. |
