Biological Activity: IL-8 produces chemotaxis over a concentration range in an assay using human peripheral blood neutrophils. Significant chemotaxis was achieved using a concentration of 10-100.0 μg/ml.
Reconstitution: The lyophilized IL-8 is soluble in water and most aqueous buffers. The lyophilized powder can be reconstituted in water to a concentration of 100 μg/ml. Do not vortex! This solution can be diluted into other buffered solutions or stored at -20°C for future use. The use of carrier (e.g. 0.1% BSA) is recommended for long-term storage.
Stability: The lyophilized IL-8, though stable at room temperature, is best stored desiccated below 0°C. Reconstituted IL-8 should be stored in working aliquots at -20°C. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
