葡萄糖代谢PCR芯片检测葡萄糖和糖原代谢相关的调控和酶通路的84个关键基因。醣酵解,三羧酸循环,戊糖磷酸途径将来自于碳水化合物的葡萄糖降解为成为产生能量的代谢物,糖异生则将多余的能量以葡萄糖的形式储存。细胞,尤其是骨骼肌和肝脏细胞,以多糖糖原形式储存多余的葡萄糖,并在有需要时迅速将其再次代谢。糖代谢基因表达的变化在癌组织中很常见。具体而言,由于糖酵解基因的转录增强和/或三羧酸循环基因的转录下降,即使是在足够的氧气时,肿瘤也常常显示氧化磷酸化的降低。此外,糖尿病和肥胖的病理后果涉及葡萄糖代谢途径的基因表达的改变。一个值得注意的例子,小鼠的PCK1过度表达会导致肥胖。通过实时定量PCR的方法,研究者即能够利用该芯片简单可靠地同时检测糖代谢相关的基因表达。
