Stemfect™ DNA Plasmid Transfection Polymer is a novel polymer specifically designed to transfect stem cells. It enables 2-5X improved transfection efficiency on stem cells compared to Lipofectamine™ 20001. Stemfect™ Polymer is a beta-amino ester polymer that provides unique structural features that aid in plasmid complexation, cellular entry, and intracellular distribution. In addition, this polymer can be used in media containing serum and antibiotics. Stemfect™ Polymer was developed in the lab of Dr. Dan Anderson at MIT. A major focus in Dr Anderson’s lab is the study and development of polymers to deliver drugs, particularly genetically engineered proteins, DNA and RNAi, continuously at controlled rates for prolonged periods of time.
